22, 1963, I was in two-room country grade school in rural Oklahoma. December
8, 1980, I was a traveler in Florence, Italy. January 28, 1986, I was working
in Manhattan. April 19, 1995, I was in labor and giving birth to our daughter.
The morning of September 11, I was in my studio finishing paintings and
sculpture that were soon to be sent to a museum show. I stopped working
on the show I had planned to send. The installation, "Shadows of Truth"
is my reactions to the emotions that are flooding our lives. The boiling
caldron of denial, tribulation, terror, turmoil, rage, despair, desperation,
the re-evaluation of life, hopes and prayer, mixed with my personal experiences
of a fundamentalist bible childhood, living and working in Manhattan, traveling
in the mid-east, and the ongoing studies of sacred symbols and comparative
religion contributed to this work. .The life-size figures are constructed
